He was born on 30 July 1963 in São Paulo. In a country without an elite chess tradition, Milos forged himself into one of the few South Americans to compete regularly in Europe’s strongest tournaments. In 2001 he reached his peak of 2630 ELO.

For years, Milos was the only Brazilian player able to compete internationally. His perseverance paved the way for Brazil to take competitive chess seriously.
