Who Le Quang Liem is

He was born on March 13, 1991 in Ho Chi Minh City. In 2010 he was crowned world under-20 champion, putting Vietnam on the map of international chess. Since then, he has been the country’s undisputed number 1, and in 2023 he reached his peak of 2740 ELO.

Speed and versatility

Le especially excels in rapid and blitz games, where his calculation speed makes him a fearsome opponent even for the top 10. He has won blitz tournaments defeating players like Carlsen and Caruana.
